Hijab is in fashion. Hijab fashion: Islamic fashionistas set trends! The Islamic way of dressing while maintaining your own style

Are you satisfied with your appearance? Do your clothes match your personality and lifestyle? If you want to improve your appearance and at the same time comply with the requirements of Islam, but do not know where to start, then our article is for you. We will also try to help you if you are sure that something needs to be changed in your image in order to feel more comfortable (which is especially important in a secular society). We hope that the advice of Jennifer Kabir, a newly converted Muslim from America, will help our sisters in faith to be stylish, beautiful, and most importantly, queens who bring the beauty of Islam!

Wardrobe change

“Like many women who converted to Islam, I was faced with the problem of completely changing my wardrobe. I joyfully welcomed these changes, since my new modest clothing and way of presenting myself to the world pleased the Creator and increased my awareness that I was an individual, part of the world created by the Almighty. This modesty of a Muslim woman is the best of styles that I was very proud of and glad to embrace.

Aiming for the highest degree of modesty, I parted with all the attributes of my wardrobe that could cause an unambiguous reaction or unwanted attention. I've boiled down all my clothing to a few abayas, jilbabs and simple white hijabs. This decision helped me radically switch to the Islamic style of clothing.

However, over time, I began to suffocate in my clothes and felt discomfort caused by this internal conflict. I didn't feel comfortable and couldn't determine what the problem was. What was it? What made me so unhappy?

In order to solve this puzzle, I had to go back to the very beginning. Growing up around artists and other creative types, I have always loved expressing myself through pattern, texture and design. I grew up on a sandy beach and often walked barefoot on the hot sidewalks of Southern California, but now all my hijabs were made of thick synthetic material, which could not be comfortable for me. Also, color has always been an important part of my life. My mother and grandmother were artists, so from childhood I was surrounded by watercolors and other paraphernalia of the art world. Before coming to Islam, I worked as a makeup artist and hairdresser. So that was my problem - after coming to Islam, I mistakenly decided that now there was no place in my life for any manifestation of taste and creativity.

But fortunately, my love for creativity and color returned to me, it gave me a feeling of lightness. Incorporating these elements into my wardrobe allowed me to regain my lost uniqueness and led me to create a personal style that felt comfortable and natural to me. I was happy - now my appearance completely suited me, gave me a feeling of joy and, without diverging from the norms of Islam, filled me with a sense of pride in being a Muslim.

Your personality

Below are several elements of a creative style that each of you, dear Muslim sisters, can develop for yourself. I hope my tips help you answer important questions about who you are and what is best for you.

Simplicity, functionality, quality fabrics, and a sense of personal style are the defining elements of a successful wardrobe when it comes to dressing stylishly yet modestly. When we think of fashion, we tend to imagine well-groomed models on the cover of fashion magazines, dressed in step with the latest fashion trends. But in fact, it is very easy to feel comfortable and look great by choosing your own individual style, harmoniously combining classical fashion with Islamic clothing requirements!

Ten Must-Have Elements

Your hijab. Your scarf is an important part of your wardrobe and a defining element of your style. This important accessory to your appearance, if chosen well, will perfectly complement the rest of your attire. The hijab should complement your complexion and be functional for your everyday lifestyle.

The art of wearing hijab. You can tie a hijab very beautifully by, for example, playing with the ends of a scarf, leaving it to flow beautifully in waves to hide the outlines of the figure. This style is suitable for even the most elegant ensembles.

Hijab color, patterns and texture. It's no secret that women look radiant in hijabs or headscarves with vibrant floral patterns. Some people prefer dark or even black tones, but they are often perceived by others as heavy and depressing. You can look fabulously elegant in a formal hijab that matches the color of the rest of your clothes. Skip heavy, non-breathable materials, even in winter, and choose lightweight, natural hijabs, without beads or a lot of shiny elements.

Fabrics. If you still can't part with your synthetic hijabs, believing that only such heavy, hard fabric will provide you with full coverage, then let's look at the following. Polyester and other man-made fabrics are widely sold in most Islamic clothing stores. For this reason, many women buy them, forgetting about their most important drawback. When it comes to your clothing, you'll want to look for breathable materials like linen, cotton, and even silk. The scarf should be just heavy enough to give your head some volume and shape, but not so heavy that it hangs down your head and makes you feel heavy.

Hijab size . The length and width of the scarf are very important to your appearance. A petite woman can simply get lost in the same scarf that would suit a more statuesque woman. So how do you choose the perfect hijab size? As a general rule, the sides of your hijab should be laid gracefully at the base of the shoulders, leaving some extra material to cover the upper part of the figure.

Your clothes. The defining feature of Muslim women's clothing is that clothing is usually wide, it should not be transparent and tight-fitting. However, this does not mean that our clothes should be baggy or shapeless. Let's think creatively and take a fresh look at fashion classics that can be adapted to our wonderful Islamic style. For example, a classic long dark skirt can be very beautifully and harmoniously combined with the same classic blouse. Also, long flowing skirts will look great on you at any time of the year. Another tip is don’t limit yourself to one style.

Your individual style . Sometimes we reach a dead end and don’t know what we like, what will suit us. Sometimes we women are so busy with everything around us that we forget that we need to pay attention to ourselves. Or we have so much work that sometimes it’s just a pity to waste time on appearance. I always advise such women to start by visiting the shopping center, and especially the accessories department. Many times we tend to pass by nice little things that will suit us, thinking that it is too flashy or too expensive. However, most of the jewelry is quite affordable. And then you will be carried away by design, color, shapes, and you will be able to come to that individual style that will be comfortable and practical for you.

Accessories. A flower brooch, artfully selected bracelets, a beautiful ring, a stylish bag, or a long necklace are important style elements that can lift your spirits and give you a more festive look. Having several different accessories allows you to create your own ideas and wear what suits you best. Want to look more modest? Wear classic pearl beads.

Shoes . Every woman loves good shoes. The right shoes can help set the tone for your appearance. Shoes should be practical and suit your lifestyle, I advise women to have at least four different pairs of shoes in their wardrobe. Here, first of all, it is worth including simple ballet flats and boots in a classic style. Avoid heavy, bulky shoes that will be difficult for you to wear and will also make you look less feminine. The style of shoes will depend on your personal taste and specific needs.

Your abaya. I think it is important for any Muslim woman to have at least one long, wide dress in her wardrobe that she can wear to the mosque or on other important occasions. Sometimes outerwear items such as an abaya are absolutely necessary, and visiting a mosque is one of such cases.

Inshallah, these tips will serve as inspiration for you, dear ladies, and will help you go in the right direction in choosing your personal style. Remember that moderation is good in everything and that the clothing of a Muslim woman is, first of all, a way of acquiring the pleasure of Allah Almighty. Guided by this important rule, you will definitely choose stylish, practical, and, most importantly, clothing that does not go beyond Islam. I sincerely wish all Muslim women to find their own unique style, which will help you declare: “I am a Muslim and I’m proud of it!”

Translation from English especially for Islam.ru

However, this does not mean at all that the most freedom-loving women of the East abandon their culture and are ready to imitate Europeans in everything. The “fashion revolution” in Arab countries is in full swing (), but even rebel women continue to respect their traditions.

They wear bright European clothes, but do not remove their hijab. They are well versed in fashion, are happy to experiment with style, and are just as good at taking selfies and posting their looks on Instagram as we are.

Just imagine - there are quite a few fashionistas among women in hijabs! Moreover, a whole movement of hijabists (from the English hijab + fashionistas, “fashionistas in hijabs”) is gaining strength on the Internet. Here is one of the “leaders” of the fashion movement - an Iranian American Imaan Ali, author of a super popular fashion blog The Hijablog. Look at Imaan’s amazing sense of fashion, her ability to mix different style items, and create outfits at the intersection of East and West:

Imaan says she started her blog in 2009 to challenge the stereotypical image of Muslim women as colorless, inconspicuous creatures hidden in black robes. She wanted to give the girls of the East self-confidence, individuality, beauty and the desire to show it through fashion. After all, fashion, beautiful clothes and accessories are creativity. Moreover, it does not at all contradict religious principles. Imaan Ali wears a headscarf and does not expose her body, but this does not at all prevent her from looking stylish and modern. Even we Europeans have something to learn from her. For example, here is a useful video tutorial on how to tie a turban:

And here's what other Islamic fashionistas look like. Some manage to combine even a traditional hijab and sneakers in one look:

But let's return to globalization. Look how interesting it is: Islamic fashion tries to fit into European trends, while Europeans, on the contrary, make a “curtsey” towards the East. Dior, Louis Vuitton, Hermes and Chanel create capsule collections for Arab countries. So in the United Arab Emirates, for example, even on burqas you can see recognizable logos of high brands.

And in general, is it any wonder that hijab fashion is so popular when even superstars do not ignore it? For them, this is nothing more than a game or even hooliganism - the Islamic world criticized them for this. But the eastern fashionistas liked it!

Admire Madonna, Kim Kirdashian and Rihanna in Islamic looks:

By the way, what do you think about Islamic fashion trends?

P.S. But not just the hijab! The most interesting thing about other scarves and capes -

Do you know and?

I’m not against traditions, but any hijab gives age to a woman, nothing makes a woman look younger and looks better than a stylish hairstyle and well-groomed hair.

There is no smell of hijab here. This is not what Muslim women look like. Our religion has completely different requirements for the appearance of women. Don't mislead women with articles like this. the meaning is to hide and protect yourself from prying eyes

emancipation and other nonsense should not affect following the instructions of the Creator. everything that is valuable is difficult to access and hidden. for example pearls at the bottom of the ocean, gold and pearls. Is it easy to get them? so is female beauty. putting yourself on display devalues. wrapping yourself in a beautiful wrapper and selling it at a higher price, you forget about the sweet filling

Militta has devoted many publications to the hijab and other items of clothing. We told the history of origin and wearing rules. Today we’ll look at the most beautiful images with hijab. This will be useful not only for Islamic girls, but Orthodox Christians can also get a lot of ideas for creating images.

It must be said right away that God does not require a person to renounce material goods and luxury. In parables there are examples when the Lord calls for generous alms and even giving away one’s property; the saints also talk about this. But such a path is not imposed on everyone, but is offered as an ideal. Simply put, if you want to achieve maximum perfection in spiritual life on Earth, leave only God in your thoughts, and don’t let everything else worry your soul.

Perfection in any matter is the destiny of the chosen few. The Lord knows our weaknesses and does not demand the impossible from us. Therefore, no religion denies wealth and luxury, the main thing is that they do not harm our soul. If you have the opportunity to buy expensive clothes and this makes you and your loved ones happy, that’s good. And if expensive clothes are needed to satisfy your own vanity and boasting on social networks, this approach is harmful to your soul.

God created the Universe and our Earth beautiful; in general, all of God’s creations initially shone with beauty, and then, under the influence of the sinful nature of man, many things were distorted and took on ugly, disgusting forms. But the desire for beauty is inherent in us from birth, which means that the desire to decorate ourselves with luxurious things is not sinful in itself. Therefore, be inspired by beautiful stylish images in the photo, buy scarves and create your own.

    Hi girls!

I decided to dedicate today’s article to girls who are especially sensitive to their style. We will talk about girls who wear the hijab for religious reasons. Lately, a lot of questions have accumulated from them. Well, I’ll try to answer them with this article :-)

What should a girl wear who must cover her head with a scarf? And also in such a way as to look stylish? Yes, in fact, almost anything is possible. Reread the article about 2017, adopt trends that don’t require you to expose parts of your body, and feel free to dress up. Believe me, the room for maneuver is huge. I’ll show you with a clear example!

And you, of course, will adjust and adapt my ideas for yourself, because everything is sooooo individual and there are no two identical girls and no two identical wardrobes :)

    SPORT-CHIC

The super hot trend of recent seasons, “sporty chic,” adapts perfectly to the oriental style. A hood or cap right on top of a scarf looks bold, but very cool.

    KNIT IN A NEW WAY

What if you tie a scarf in some unusual way? There are a lot of videos on this topic on the Internet. Worth a try.

    DRESS SHIRT

Cotton shirtdress + skinny pants = a win-win combination. In my opinion, in combination with a scarf it looks even more interesting than without it!

    MILITARY

    OVERALLS

Jumpsuits are a great alternative to skirts and dresses. Solves 2 problems in one fell swoop. It looks stylish and covers everything.

    WIDE PANTS

And, continuing the theme of overalls, another alternative to a dress is wide trousers. Let me remind you that this season this is one of the relevant ones.

    PLISSED SKIRT

The main thing is to wear it correctly to avoid feminine style. How to wear? See the photo below and re-read again, dedicated only to these skirts.

    THE RIGHT DRESS

If you want to look stylish and modern, pay attention to basic dresses. Try on a dress with a straight silhouette without a lot of frills and other details in the cut.

Girls, I hope you got some new ideas for your beautiful wardrobes!

And once again, like a mantra, I will repeat the important words: EVERYTHING CANNOT BE SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE! Every wardrobe is unique. Each of you is UNIQUE!

With your own clothing requirements, tastes, likes and preferences, body shape and lifestyle.

Therefore, your wardrobe needs to be created carefully and painstakingly, taking into account all the nuances.
